    4. Curing and Finishing: The resin-impregnated sheets are cured under heat and pressure in an autoclave or compression molding process. Post-curing, the sheets are trimmed and polished to achieve the desired thickness and surface finish.

    • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Despite being lightweight (density ~1.6 g/cm³), carbon fiber sheets offer tensile strength comparable to steel but at a fraction of the weight.
    • Stiffness and Rigidity: The Young’s modulus of carbon fiber ranges from 200 to 800 GPa, making it ideal for applications requiring rigidity without excessive weight.
    • Corrosion and Chemical Resistance: Unlike metals, carbon fiber does not rust or degrade when exposed to moisture, chemicals, or saltwater.
