Mezzanine Racking is a simple rack that makes full use of the upper
space of the warehouse. Build an intermediate attic over existing
racks or worksites to increase storage area. Generally, light foam,
small and medium-sized goods or goods with a long storage period
can be placed on the attic floor. Forklifts, conveyor belts,
stackers, electric hoists or lifting platforms can be used to lift
the goods. Light trolleys or pallet pulling trolleys are generally
used on the attic.

Types

Generally, there are three types of mezzanine racks as follows.
1. Steel platform
Steel platform is also called work platform. Various forms and
functions are available. Its biggest feature is the fully assembled
structure and flexible design, which is widely used in modern
warehouses.
2. Half Racking Mezzanine
Racks are installed on the first floor to store goods, and upstairs
to build offices or stack small items. Or the first floor is used
as a workshop or stockpiling area, and racks are installed upstairs
to store goods.
3. Full Racking Mezzanine Floor Systems
Racks are installed on each floor to maximize the use of space on
the height, so the space utilization is high. This type of attic
shelf is the most common.

Features

1. The overall structure of the mezzanine rack is assembled, so
there is no need for on-site welding, and the overall appearance is
beautiful, clean and generous. Compared with concrete structures or
steel structures, attic racks have the advantages of low cost and
high space utilization, because the ground floor racks themselves
play a supporting role for the upper floors.
2. There are several common types of panels for mezzanine racks,
such as flat plate, patterned steel plate, punched steel plate,
etc., which are used to adapt to different use requirements such as
fire prevention, ventilation, and lighting. Forklifts, hydraulic
lifts, freight elevators, etc. can be selected to move the goods up
and down the floors; and when the goods are transported on the same
floor, small trolleys are usually used.
3. The column of the mezzanine rack usually chooses a round tube
with strong bearing capacity and less steel consumption, and the
bearing capacity is usually 300KG~1000KG/square meter. The primary
and secondary beams can choose the most economical and reasonable
H-beam in steel structure engineering and the C-shaped cold-formed
beam of special steel platform according to the bearing needs.
Special C-type cold-formed patterned steel plate or hollow plate,
adopts gusset type structure, and is rigidly fixed with the primary
and secondary beams. The entire platform structure has strong
integrity. Different floor panels can be selected according to
actual needs to meet the requirements of fire protection or
anti-dust and anti-fall of small pieces. The lighting system can
also be configured under the floor as required.
4. Attic racks are widely used in high warehouses, small goods,
manual access, and large storage capacity, which can make full use
of space and save warehouse area. According to the actual site and
specific requirements, it can be designed as a single-layer or
multi-layer attic, generally 2-3 floors. It is especially suitable
for the classified preservation of enterprise series products such
as auto parts and electronic devices, with a load capacity of
≤500kg/layer.

Applications

In general, loading capacity of mezzanine is 300kg-1000kg/m² and
2-3 levels. It is widely used in the case of high storeroom, small
goods, artificial access and large storage. More particularly
applicable to auto parts, electronics, light industry, clothing,
and other enterprises of the products classified preservation.
