Which raw material factors affect the quality of high carbon ferrochrome smelting
The smelting methods of high carbon ferrochrome include blast furnace method, electric furnace method, plasma furnace method, etc. The raw materials for smelting high carbon ferrochrome include chromium ore, coke and silica. It should be noted that when high carbon ferrochrome manufacturers produce high carbon ferrochrome, the following four factors will have a certain impact on the quality of high carbon ferrochrome:
1. Harmful impurities in raw materials: impurities in raw materials are harmful to sulfur and phosphorus, because they will affect the quality of steel and steel after entering the ferrochrome alloy.
2. Whether the raw material particle size is appropriate has a great influence on the smelting process. If the raw material particle size is too large, it will not be easy to melt, and the reason is difficult to smelt. The conductivity increases, the slag volume increases, the furnace condition deteriorates, and the technical and economic indicators of smelting deteriorate.
3. Drying of raw materials is also very important, especially coke. Coke has a large porosity, so it has strong water absorption. The fluctuation of water content in coke first affects the accuracy of the fixed carbon ratio in the charge, and secondly, the evaporation of water also consumes heat. Especially when the material collapses, the wet material directly enters the crucible area, absorbs a lot of heat, and increases power consumption. After the wet coke is crushed, its powder often blocks the sieve hole or makes the sieve hole smaller. As a result, the coke powder cannot be sieved down, and the powder in the coke increases. When wet coke is loaded into the closed furnace, it is easy to block the material pipe and produce suspended material. When the material collapses, it will bring in air, and the pressure in the furnace will increase rapidly, which may cause an explosion accident. So we should pay special attention.
4. The grade and purity of raw materials: smelting requires the raw materials to be as high as possible. Raw materials with high purity can achieve high yield and low consumption.
