Process complexity: This process requires the basic shape of the
plastic part to be manufactured first. Usually, injection molding

and secondary injection molding or other methods of combination are
carried out to make the two into a whole. This involves multiple
steps and precise operations, so the process is relatively complex.
High requirements for molds: The mold needs to be designed to
accommodate the plastic part and the insert, and it is necessary to
ensure that the insert will not shift or deform during the
injection - molding process. For example, the mold may need to be
equipped with special positioning structures or clamping devices to
fix the insert. In addition, the cavity structure of the mold
should closely match the shapes of the plastic part and the insert
to ensure the dimensional accuracy and quality of the molded
product.
Material adaptability: It is applicable to the combination of a
variety of plastic materials and insert materials. The plastic
materials can be thermoplastic plastics such as polyethylene,
polypropylene, polystyrene, etc., and can also be thermosetting
plastics such as epoxy resin, phenolic resin, etc. The materials of
the inserts are more extensive and can be metal, ceramic, glass,
fiber, etc.
