Fabricated from Galfan-coated steel wire (Zn-5%Al-MM alloy, 4.8mm diameter) with hexagonal mesh (120x150mm apertures), these boxes (3m x1.2m x0.6m) are designed for high-velocity river revetments. Units include vertical reinforcement ribs (6mm wire) at 1m intervals and welded corner braces (4mm thickness) to stabilize angular basalt infill (200-400mm). Interconnected via zinc-plated steel lacing pins (8mm diameter) and cross-wire binders, the system allows hydraulic permeability in gravel-bed streams. Compliant with EN 10223-3 standards, optional non-metallic composite spacers (polypropylene) prevent galvanic corrosion in saline estuaries. Base units integrate 100mm PVC drainage ports for pore pressure relief in cohesive bank soils.
