ST104A Plaster softening point tester
The ST104A plaster softening point tester is designed and
manufactured strictly in accordance with the "2025 Chinese
Pharmacopoeia 2102 Plaster Softening Point Determination Method".
This method is used to determine the temperature of plaster when it
softens under specified conditions, that is, the temperature at
which the plaster falls by 25mm due to heat is measured according
to the following method. Used to detect the age and tenderness of
plasters, and can indirectly reflect the viscosity of plasters.
The principle for determining the softening point of plaster is to
place the plaster sample in a sample ring, place a steel ball at
the center of the plaster sample surface, and place the sample ring
with plaster in a water bath from a bracket. As the temperature of
the water bath increases, the plaster softens and the steel ball
sinks. When the steel ball dragging the plaster sample comes into
contact with the bottom plate, the temperature recorded at this
moment is the softening point temperature of the plaster.
