1T9121 Truck Air Spring Specifications

• The vehicle sinks on one side or as a whole after parking.
• Frequent inflation is required to maintain normal height.

Possible causes:

• Aging, cracking or scratching of the airbag rubber.
• Poor or damaged air nozzle seal.
• The air pipe (trachea) is broken or the joint is loose.

Solution:

• Apply soapy water to the surface of the airbag to find the leak point (the bubbling point is the leak point).
• Replace the damaged airbag or repair the air nozzle/pipeline.

2. The airbag is bulging or deformed

Failure phenomenon:

• The airbag is partially bulging or twisted, and the shape is asymmetrical after inflation.
• The bumpy feeling is aggravated when the vehicle is driving.

Possible causes:

• The cord layer (internal reinforcement layer) is broken.
• Structural damage caused by long-term overloading or excessive air pressure.

Solution:

• Replace immediately! A bulging airbag may burst at any time.

3. Airbag rupture

Fault phenomenon:

• Suspension collapses suddenly and the vehicle body tilts severely.
• Accompanied by a "bang" explosion sound (in an emergency).

Possible causes:

• Piercing by sharp objects (such as metal fragments on the road).
• Aging of rubber + extreme load impact.

Emergency treatment:

• Use pads to support the frame after parking to avoid damage to other parts.
• Do not continue driving before replacing the airbag!

4. Abnormal sound (squeak/friction sound)

Fault phenomenon:

• A "squeak" sound is heard when passing over speed bumps or bumpy roads.

Possible causes:

• The airbag rubs against the metal base (insufficient lubrication).
• The suspension link/bushing is worn, causing the airbag to be misaligned.

Solution:

• Check the airbag installation position and apply special silicone grease for lubrication.
• Check other suspension parts (such as shock absorbers and swing arms).

5. Abnormal suspension height

Fault phenomenon:

• The height of the left and right sides of the vehicle is inconsistent (one side is higher and the other side is lower).
• The automatic leveling system fails.

Possible causes:

• Height sensor failure.
• The distribution valve or solenoid valve is blocked/damaged.
• The airbag on one side leaks or the air pressure is uneven.

Solution:

• Check the sensor circuit and valve body.
• Calibrate the suspension height or replace the faulty parts.

6. Aging/cracks on the rubber surface

Fault phenomenon:

• Fine cracks, chapped or powdered on the surface of the airbag.

Possible causes:

• Long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays, ozone or oil.
• Exceeding the service life (usually 5-8 years or 800,000 kilometers).

Preventive measures:

• Clean the airbag regularly and avoid contact with corrosive liquids such as engine oil and diesel.
• Try to avoid direct sunlight when parking.
