What is Reticulocyte stain (For Animals and Pets)?

For reticulocyte staining in whole blood.

Sample requirement:

Fresh whole blood or EDTA (2K) anticoagulant whole blood.

Interpretation of the test result:

1. Reticulocyte staining: The reticulocyte cytoplasm contains a light blue or dark blue reticulocyte structure. 1000 red blood cells are observed with an oil mirror and the percentage of reticulocyte is calculated.

2. Reticulocytes in dogs are mostly aggregated.

3. When anemia occurs in cats, most of the released are point-like reticulocytes.
