AA is a cylindrical battery physical size.
LR6 is a specific designation for a 1.5 V alkaline cell in a AA size case.
So yes, you can use the LR6 pretty much most places fitting an AA cell.

Make sure that the device has a label listing the battery type needed.

Many manufacturers also have their own names/model number for an LR6 battery - Duracell calls it a MN1500 and Eveready calls it a E91.

However, the other way around, using an AA sized battery if a LR6 Alkaline is specifically required, it may not work.

Some AA betteries such as carbon zinc chemistry can’t deliver as much current, or work for as long. so it not a good idea.
If it asks for an LR6 get a Alkaline AA cell.
