ASTM A268 is a standard specification for ferritic and martensitic stainless steel seamless and welded tube, suitable for general corrosion resistance and medium and high temperature services (usually ≤400°C). TP430Ti is one of the titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel materials, designed for improved weldability and intergranular corrosion resistance.

ASTM A268 TP430Ti seamless tube is an economical choice for medium and low temperature corrosion environments due to its low cost, oxidation resistance and stress corrosion resistance, especially suitable for replacing austenitic stainless steel 304/316L. However, it needs to be carefully evaluated in harsh chemical environments, and molybdenum-containing or duplex stainless steel (such as 2205) should be selected when necessary.

Role of titanium:
Fix carbon, form TiC, and prevent intergranular corrosion caused by chromium carbide precipitation.
