Swivel Joint Technical Description:
High-pressure Swivel Joints are commonly used tool for connecting
pipelines and sand blasting in oilfield well workover operations.
It has the characteristics of variable adjustment direction, fast
connection, reasonable structure, small size, light weight, good
sealing performance and easy operation. The movable elbow produced
by our company is a metal pipeline joint equipped with ball
bearings. We can provide various types of movable elbows and repair
kits for use under normal temperature, low temperature and
sulfur-containing gas conditions.
There are two types of movable elbows: long radius and short
radius. The long radius movable elbow has a smooth diameter, which
can minimize the resistance when the liquid passes through. The
fluid's resistance to erosion and corrosion of the wall thickness
at the turning is better than that of the short radius. However,
sometimes due to the limitations of on-site installation space or
when the pressure is low, short-radius movable elbows are also
used. The blanks are formed on CNC machine tools and have uniform
wall thickness and long service life. The wall thickness difference
between the inner and outer arcs reaches FMC standards, and the
appearance quality is extremely smooth; the three-lane design of
the movable elbow can more effectively withstand heavy loads and
radial loads, making it stable when under pressure and stable in
the pipeline when under variable loads. Vibration is smaller.
The high-pressure movable elbow is designed according to API Spec
16C and made of high-quality alloy steel.
The cold working pressure is 42MPa to 105MPa, and there are 2in and
3in high-pressure movable elbows. Commonly used high-pressure
movable elbows are type 10 or type 50. The connecting thread of
high-pressure movable elbow is usually ACME thread, and the
high-pressure movable elbow with tapered pipe thread needs to be
specially produced.
Swivel Joint Care And Maintenance:
a) After transporting liquid, rinse thoroughly to reduce corrosion
of the movable elbow.
b) Check the movable elbow sealing ring regularly and replace it in
time to prevent leakage.
c) Regularly optically inspect the wall thickness of each part of
the movable elbow. When the wall thickness is reduced by 20%, it
needs to be replaced with a new one.
d) Exposed threads should be coated with anti-rust oil to prevent
rust.
e) Change grease regularly.
f) If the surface paint peels off during assembly and use, it
should be repainted.
