Introduction of Vacuum Cooling Drum :

Cooling Drum is Located in the film metallization unit. To describe the process in simple words, the film rewinding system (shafts) are located in a vacuum chamber from which air is removed by vacuum pumps. The vacuum chamber, in turn, is divided (conditionally) by this process shaft into two parts (upper and lower). A vacuum of 10-5 mbar is created in the lower part, and 10-3 mbar in the upper part ,Under the shaft there are evaporators, which are heated to a temperature of 1350-1400 C and aluminum wire is fed onto their surface, which instantly melts into a liquid state and then evaporates.

Due to the difference in “pressure” in the upper and lower parts of the vacuum chamber, aluminum vapors acquire directional movement and fall on the surface of the film,

which moves along the cooling drum. Because aluminum vapors are hot and the temperature of the evaporators in this working area is high, so in order not to melt the moving film, the cooling drum is cooled to -25C due to the constant circulation of ethylene glycol through the built-in cooling system.
