AISI D2 • DIN 1.2379 • JIS SKD11 Steel Round Bar and Sheet on Stock

AISI D2 steel has good wear resistance, its carbon element is almost 1.5%. The chromium element is 11.5%. After the heat treatment, the hardness could up to 60HRC. It can be used to play the roled of cold work mould steel with high impact and complex shape.

D2 Steel Chemical Composition:

• Carbon: 1.4%-1.60%
• Silicon: 0.30%-0.50%
• Manganese: 0.30%-0.50%
• Chromium: 11.0%-13.0%
• Vanadium: 0.80%
• Molybdenum: 0.70%-1.20%

D2 Steel Heat Treatment:

• Annealing:

After the processing, heat the workpiece to 600℃-650℃, stay the temperature 2 hours. Then make it colding in the stove until the temperature is down to the 500℃. Finally, take it out to do the processing of air cooling.

• Tempering:

After the quenching, it needs to do the tempering immediately. And at least do this for twice.

D2 Steel Hardness

• Anneal: ≤255HB
• Quenching: ≥59HRC

D2 Steel Application:

It is suitable for complex and deformable tool steel, high wear resistance and long life all kinds of cold stamping die and cold shearing edge, crepe plate; cold extrusion forming, drawing die, beer stainless steel sheet and high hardness material blanking Mode and so on.
