One example of the use of a USB 2.0 to Fiber Extender in an

robotic arms for assembly line processes.

computer controlling the robotic arm may be located far away from

transmit the control signal over long distances using fiber optic
cables. The extender can convert the USB signal to fiber optic and
transmit it up to several kilometers away from the computer,
