A mechanical and plant engineering company looked for a pump for an
installation at a manufacturer of steel pipes. The pumps were
supposed to feed a water pressure accumulator with press water, an
emulsion with lubricating and antibiotic additives. A constant flow
rate with alternating counter pressures is very important.
Pressures of up to 10 bar are to be handled.
The existing conditions were anything but ideal. There was low
space for the pumps in the plant which was already built.
Additionally, the pipeline system was not ideal for conveying press
water.
The mechanical and plant engineering company approached Accuvon
company with these requirements. The ideal pumps could not be used
due to the low space. The customer opted for smaller pumps with
high rotational speed. The pumps are equipped with customized
tri-lobe steel rotors with screw profile. An electronic
overpressure protection protects the pumps from too high counter
pressure. Additionally, the pipeline system was optimized according
to the specifications from Accuvon company.
The three pumps have operated for one year without any problems and
free of wear in three shifts on seven days a week. The customer is
very satisfied with the long service life and the reliable flow
rate of Accuvon rotary lobe pumps.
