The PHiliphh 989803167511 Connector Upgrade Kit is specifically
designed for blood pressure cuffs. When using a blood pressure
cuff, please pay attention to correct operation:
1. Preparation before use:
• Check that the cuff is intact and there are no cracks or leaks.
• Make sure the cuff is tightly connected to the sphygmomanometer
and drain the cuff of all air.
• Choose the right cuff size
2. Bind the cuff correctly:
• Place the cuff on the bare upper arm approximately 2.5 cm above
the elbow fossa, ensuring that the center of the cuff is aligned
with the brachial artery (inside of the upper arm).
• The cuff should be close to the skin, but not too tight, and
should allow one or two fingers to be inserted easily.
• Avoid clothing getting caught in the cuff to avoid affecting the
measurement results.
3. Adjustment and positioning:
• Make sure the cuff height is approximately level with the heart,
this will help improve measurement accuracy.
• When using a stethoscope (if using a manual sphygmomanometer),
place its probe in the antecubital fossa over the pulse of the
brachial artery.
4. Start measuring:
• Follow the instructions on the sphygmomanometer to start the
measurement procedure. For automatic sphygmomanometers, it will
automatically inflate and deflate and display the reading.
• For a manual sphygmomanometer, slowly inflate until no pulse
sound can be heard, then deflate slowly while listening for the
first and last pulse sounds to determine systolic and diastolic
blood pressure.
