Architectural Mesh With Copper Material
The application of copper wire mesh in construction:
Pure copper wire drawing bright, showing bright orange-red. Copper
is rich in color and contrasts well with stainless steel when woven
together. Considering "living finishes," natural color changes do
happen quickly, and depending on environmental conditions, the
final color will vary. In general, in the presence of salt,
moisture and sunlight, copper will transition from bright to dark
brown, then gray, and finally blue-green or gray-green. Since the
natural color of copper exhibits dramatic changes during
weathering, there are many coatings or chemicals that can be used
to speed up or slow down the process. Machining copper into the
desired color is an art that should be done by consulting an
experienced metal finisher.
Considerations when specifying copper wire networks for building
applications:
When Jumao weaves a wire mesh with copper wire, the copper wire
starts out "bright" but is considered "bare." This means that the
copper wire will almost immediately be susceptible to color changes
due to tarnishing. Jumao cannot guarantee color consistency when it
reaches the final installation point. If the desired final "bright"
surface is to be maintained, a chemical or physical removal of
gloss is required before cleaning the coating.
