GCr15 steel is a representative steel grade of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with good overall performance. After spheroidizing annealing, it has good workability, but it is sensitive to the formation of white spots. Mainly used in the manufacture of steel balls, rollers and bushings on drive shafts such as internal combustion engines, electric locomotives, machine tools, tractors, steel rolling equipment, drilling rigs, railway vehicles and mining machinery.

1. The residual copper content (melting analysis) of the steel for bearing steel pipes should not exceed 0.2%.

2. The oxygen content is measured on the billet or steel.

3. The sulfur content (melting analysis) of wire rod steel should not exceed 0.02%.

Applicable Industries

GCr15 bearing steel is widely used to manufacture spindle bearings, railway bearings,engine bearings, machine tools bearings, mining machinery bearings, general machinery bearings etc.

GCr15SiMn bearing steel is mainly used to manufacture thick wall bearings, such as large and extra large size bearings, used in heavy machinery and rolling mill machinery.
