Copper Pipe Elbow Introduction
The Push-Fit connection system is really taking hold. It's the
easiest way to join copper, CPVC or PEX pipe in any combination
with no soldering, clamps, unions or glue. Just insert the pipe and
the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a
specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal.
Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool. So
fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even
be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces.

Installation
Select the correct size fitting and pipe for the job. Check that
fittings and pipe are clean, in good condition and are free from
damage and foreign objects.Cut the pipe so that the ends are
square.Ensure that there are no burrs or damage to the cut end.Once
the pipe end is cut square and clean,use a permanent marker to mark
the insert depth on the outside of the pipe.This mark is used to
ensure that the joint is assembled correctly.To assemble
correctly,the pipe needs to be pushed into the fitting untill it
meets the tube stop.Follow these three steps to insert the pipe
into the fitting.
1.lnsert the pipe through the release collar against the grab ring.
2.Push the pipe firmly with a slight twisting action until it
reaches
the tube stop.
3.To ensure that the pipe is correctly inserted, check that the
depth
mark is within 0.005 in (0.13 mm) of the end of the release collar.
Disconnection of the joint can only occur by using the PUSHLOCK
removal tool.By applying pressure to the release collar with the
re-
moval tool, the grab ring teeth are splayed.This action releases
the pipe, allowing it to be removed from the fitting.
1.Place the PUSHLOCK removal tool around the pipe with the non-
branded face against the release collar.The end with the size dis-
played on the removal tool should be positioned around the pipe and
the other end around the neck of the fitting.
2.Push the removal tool against the release collar and pull the
pipe
with a twisting action to release the pipe.
3.Check the fitting and pipe end for damage.The fitting and pipe
should be free of damage, foreign objects and marks on the outside
diameter. If the pipe is damaged or marked, then cut and use a new
section of pipe.
