Definition:
Lightweight Refractories is also called a silicate brick. Light
refractory material with a silica content equal to or greater than
91% and an apparent density of less than 1.2 g / cm3. The fire
resistance and the softening temperature of the cargo are not very
different from ordinary silica bricks with the same composition.
When using finely divided silica as a raw material, the critical
particle size generally does not exceed 1 mm, and particles smaller
than 0.5 mm are more than 90%. Add flammable substances to the
material or use gas-forming methods to form the porous structure
obtained by combustion. It can also be converted into
non-combustible products.
Lightweight Refractories is mainly used for various parts of
furnaces that need thermal insulation or need to reduce their own
weight without direct contact with the melt, and there is no
aggressive gas or rapid temperature change. When used at high
temperatures, it should not come into contact with alkaline
refractories. Depending on the material, the maximum operating
temperature is 1200 to 1550 ° C.

2. Because of its high porosity, its compressive strength, slag
resistance, and corrosion resistance are not as good as silica
bricks, but its resistance to thermal shock is improved.

5. Maximum operating temperature: 1200 ~ 1550 °C depends on the
material.
Application:
Lightweight Refractories is used in bulkheads in the blast furnace
section, carbonization and combustion chambers of coke furnaces,
pyeong furnaces, immersion furnaces, glass melting furnaces,
regenerators and slag chambers made of refractory and ceramics.
There are also furnace safes and other load-bearing parts. It can
also be used for the high temperature bearing part of the high
temperature blast furnace and the top of the mountain plate
furnace.
