Points of Astra EV Healing Abutment:
The design of the healing abutments is based upon the natural
dentition utilizing a site-specific, crown-down approach. The round
and triangular options mimic a variety of tooth shapes and support
the soft tissue preparing for the final abutment.
■ Heights and diameters are harmonized with the final abutments and
with the expected tooth positions
■ Round shapes are indicated for all positions in the mouth
■ Triangular shapes are designed for anterior implant sites and
mimic the specific shape for incisors and canines
Note:
■ The protocol describes an implant placement flush to or slightly
below bone level.
■ Make sure no bone or soft tissue is trapped between healing
abutment and implant. This is increasingly important if the implant
is placed submerged.
■ If a narrow healing abutment is selected in situations with thick
gingiva, the soft tissue can be too tight for the impression
component when making impressions at the implant level. Therefore
the selection of healing abutment is important.
