Besides pick and place machine ,there are many kind of machines in
SMT line for different manufacturing step.
Dispensing:
Because most of the circuit boards currently used are double-sided
patches, in order to prevent the components on the input surface
from being melted and lost due to the solder paste again during the
second reflow, a dispensing machine is installed on the input
surface, which drops the glue At the fixed position of the PCB, its
main function is to fix the components to the PCB. The equipment
used is a dispenser, located at the forefront of the SMT production
line or behind the inspection equipment. Sometimes because
customers require dispensing on the output side, many small
factories now do not use dispensers. If the input components are
large, manual dispensing is used.
Mounting:
Its function is to accurately install surface-mounted components to
a fixed position on the PCB. The equipment used is a placement
machine, located behind the printing machine in the SMT production
line.
Reflow soldering:
Its function is to melt the solder paste, so that the surface
assembled components and the PCB board are firmly bonded together.
The equipment used is a reflow soldering furnace, located behind
the placement machine in the SMT production line.
Cleaning:
Its function is to remove the welding residues such as flux that
are harmful to human body on the assembled PCB board. The equipment
used is a washing machine, and the location may not be fixed,
either online or offline.
Inspection:
Its role is to inspect the soldering quality and assembly quality
of the assembled PCB board. The equipment used is a magnifying
glass, microscope, online tester (ICT), flying probe tester,
automatic optical inspection (AOI), X-RAY inspection system,
function tester, etc. The position can be placed in a suitable
place on the production line according to the needs of inspection.
Rework:
Its function is to rework the PCB board that detects the failure.
The tools used are soldering iron, rework station, etc. Configured
anywhere in the production line.
