The composition of an electrically controlled bypass valve turbocharger (ie, an exhaust turbocharger with a bypass valve) is shown in FIG. The main components of the system are turbochargers, diaphragm actuators, intercoolers, exhaust bypass valves and mechanical ventilation valves. The electronic control components of the system include an engine control module, a boost pressure regulating solenoid valve, a charge air recirculation solenoid valve, an air flow meter, an engine speed sensor, and a boost pressure sensor.

2. Diaphragm actuator (diaphragm control valve)
The right chamber of the diaphragm control valve is open to the atmosphere, and a spring acts on the diaphragm. The left chamber is connected to a boost pressure control solenoid valve. A linkage rod connected to the diaphragm is used to control the opening and closing of the exhaust bypass valve. When the left chamber pressure is low, the spring pushes the diaphragm to the left and drives the linkage rod to close the exhaust bypass valve. When the left chamber pressure is high, the diaphragm moves to the right and opens the exhaust bypass valve through the linkage rod, so that part of the exhaust gas is directly discharged into the atmosphere, thereby reducing the turbine speed and the boost pressure.

3. Booster pressure control solenoid valve
The boost pressure control solenoid valve is a two-position three-way solenoid valve. The nozzles are respectively connected to a high pressure air end (downstream of the supercharger), a low pressure air end (upstream of the supercharger), and a supercharger diaphragm actuator. The on/off of the boost pressure control solenoid valve is controlled by the engine control module. When the solenoid valve is de-energized, the left chamber of the diaphragm actuator is in communication with the low pressure air end. When the solenoid valve is energized, the left chamber of the diaphragm actuator is in communication with the high pressure air end.
