specific cells. MCDB 131 is a kind of MCDB medium, which was

to culture human microvascular endothelial cells (HMVEC).
Product Usage:
In addition to endothelial cells, MCDB 131 medium can also be used
for other cell types, such as hepatocytes, smooth muscle cells,
cardiomyocytes, etc. MCDB 131 medium is different from the
traditional medium in that it contains trace elements, putrescine,
adenine, thymine, and higher concentrations of amino acids and
vitamins, and it is often used together with EGF, hydrocortisone,
glutamine, and Low-concentration serum is used together, and the
concentration of serum added must be determined according to the
cell type.

Glucose can freely adjust the concentration of glucose according to
research needs, which is convenient and quick. High-glucose medium
is widely used in fast-growing, low-adhesion cells, myeloma cells
of hybridomas, cloned cells, transformed cells by DNA transfection,
various primary virus host cells, single cell culture, and vaccine

and produce hepatitis B vaccine. A low glucose medium is more
suitable for the culture of slower metabolism, dependent adherent
cells.
Phenol red is used as an indicator of pH value in the culture medium to
continuously monitor the pH of the culture medium. At low pH
values, phenol red makes the culture medium yellow, while at higher
pH values, it makes the culture medium purple. , when the pH value
is 7.2 to 7.4, it is red, which is most suitable for cell culture.
However, phenol red also has some disadvantages. Therefore, it is
best to use a medium without phenol red when using it. Phenol red
interferes with detection during flow cytometry analysis. In
addition, the presence of phenol red in some formulations of
serum-free media interferes with sodium-potassium balance.
This product contains amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and
other ingredients required for various types of cell culture, but
does not contain proteins, lipids, or any growth factors, so this
product should be used with serum or serum-free supplements.
