Bakelite Phenolic resins Powder are synthetic polymers formed as condensation products of phenols and aldehydes under acidic conditions. In the acidic condition, the reaction forms novolac resins. It is solid in the room temperature.These resins require a curing agent - often hexamethylenetetramine or hexa.They are not heat-sensitive.

Bakelite phenolic resins can be used as the binding agent of acoustical and thermal insulation applications across a range of industries, including Automotive.
