25KM Fast Ethernet Fiber Optic Media Converter SC
When connect fiber media converter to other equipment, or connect
media converter and media converter, it needs to use LAN cable or
Cat5/Cat6 patch cord. And there are two kinds of this cable, the
one with cross wires and the one with parallel wires.
There are two types of RJ45 plug, T568A and T568B, patch cord with
same plug is called straight wires, and patch cord with different
plug is called cross wires.
In theory, there are two kinds of network devices, DTE devices and
DCE devices. DTE devices are called data terminal devices,
including routers, PC, and so on, refers to devices at the end of
the network. The DCE device, called data communication equipment,
like Fiberall fiber media converter, is used to connect networks,
such as switches. Pin definition of DTE device port and DCE device
port is different, for example, pin 1 of DTE is Tx, but pin 1 of
DCE port is Rx. In this way, parallel wires are used to connect DTC
and DCE is to make data sent by pin 1 of dte 1 reach pin 1 of dce1.
So routers connect switches is DTE connect DCE, so it must use
parallel wires. Interconnection between DTE and DTE, since the pin
definition is the same, so straight wires cannot be used but should
use cross wires which is with 1, 3, 2, 6 intersection wires.
Similarly, interconnections of DCE devices are the same.
But now all kinds of devices are basically adaptive, regardless of
the use of straight wires or cross wires can be automatically
identified, so cross wires is rarely used.
