control systems and lower-level execution units, it can integrate
up to 255 distributed Bus Terminals into the automation network,

The BK3120 is a "economy-enhanced" PROFIBUS DP coupler launched by
Beckhoff in 2024. It slots between the older BK3100 and the more
compact BK3150. While maintaining a large 128-byte process data
capacity, it offers a more affordable price. It's ideal for
cost-sensitive upgrades and retrofits requiring high-speed DP
communication.

technology allows the number of modules in a station to be
increased to 255, easily accommodating complex I/O configurations

Optimized data transmission: This coupler is optimized for PROFIBUS
DP mode, eliminating FMS operations in the protocol. This allows
for the transmission of more user data, up to 128 bytes of input
and 128 bytes of output. It supports transmission rates up to 12
Mbps and automatically detects baud rates, simplifying network
setup.
Convenient parameterization and diagnostics: The BK3120 integrates
PROFIBUS DP V1 services. These services provide direct access to
bus coupler registers and complex Bus Terminals, facilitating
parameterization or modification (for example, adjusting limit
values for analog terminals).
Industrial-Grade Durable Design: To withstand harsh industrial
environments, the BK3120 features an IP20 protection rating, a wide
operating temperature range of 0…+55°C, and can withstand 95%
relative humidity (non-condensing). Its vibration and shock
resistance meet EN 60068-2-6/EN 60068-2-27/29 standards, and its
electromagnetic interference immunity meets EN 61000-6-2/EN
61000-6-4 standards, ensuring stable operation.
