A Bopp Jumbo Roll is a large, master roll of Biaxially Oriented
Polypropylene (BOPP) film. It is the primary form in which BOPP film is produced and sold by
manufacturers to converters. These rolls are "jumbo" because they are enormous in both width
(can be over 4 meters / 13 feet) and length (can be tens of
kilometers long). Converters then use slitting and rewinding machines to cut these
jumbo rolls down into smaller, customer-specific rolls for use in
various packaging and printing industries.
Primary Applications
Bopp Jumbo Rolls are converted into rolls used for:
1.Flexible Packaging: The largest application. Used for packaging snacks (chips, nuts), confectionery (candy,
chocolate), baked goods, and frozen foods.
2.Labeling: Clear and white BOPP films are the standard for
pressure-sensitive and in-mold labels on bottles, containers, and
consumer goods.
3.Lamination: Used as a protective over-laminate film on printed
materials like book covers, posters, and packaging to provide scuff
and water resistance.
4.Tape: The base film for many packaging tapes (e.g., transparent
packing tape).
Industrial Uses: As a release liner or a dielectric film in
capacitors.
