Polyoxyethylene (20) Sorbitan Monolaurate
Polysorbate-20 (Tween-20) is a nonionic surfactant with the
chemical name polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monolaurate. It is
prepared by the condensation of sorbitan monolaurate under alkaline
conditions. It appears as a yellow or amber clear oily liquid with
an HLB value of 16.7. It is an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier that
is easily soluble in polar solvents such as water and ethanol, but
poorly soluble in mineral oil and light petroleum.

Food industry, as an emulsifier (E432), used in ice cream, baked
goods, margarine, beverage emulsified flavors, etc. Cosmetics and
personal care products, emulsifiers, solubilizers, and detergents
in shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, lotion, face cream,
sunscreen, etc.Industrial applications, emulsifiers, wetting
agents, and dispersants in textiles, leather, paints, inks,
agrochemicals, metalworking fluids and other fields.
