The non-ionic guar gum can make the fiber distribution in the pulp more uniform, resulting in the increase of the binding point between the fiber and the fiber and the polymer compound, so as to improve the dry strength of the paper.

Non-ionic guar gum can also be used for surface sizing, especially to improve the surface properties of paper: 1.
