GI Coil Description
The full name of GI sheet is galvanized iron sheet, which is a
steel sheet treated with zinc coating to prevent corrosion and
extend service life. According to different galvanizing processes,
GI sheet can be divided into hot-dip galvanized sheet and
electro-galvanized steel sheet. Hot-dip galvanizing forms a heavy
protective layer by immersing the steel sheet in molten zinc, while
electro-galvanizing coats the steel surface with a thinner layer of
zinc through an electrochemical process.
Galvanized steel coils are widely used in the construction
industry, especially roofing materials. Galvanized steel coils are
widely used to manufacture roof panels, wall panels and other
structural components due to excellent corrosion resistance and
durability. Galvanized steel prevents rust by coating the steel
sheet surface with a layer of zinc to extend its service life.

Zinc Spangle is a surface morphology of hot-dip pure zinc coil,
when the steel strip passes through the zinc pot, the surface is
coated with liquid zinc, and then in the process of natural
solidification of the zinc layer, the zinc grain nucleus grows and
zinc spangle appears.The surface of the hot-dip pure galvanized
coils produced had zinc sparks of various sizes and shapes.
Galvanized steel sheet is cut from galvanized steel coil, the base
material is cold rolled steel, it has good processing performance.
The galvanized sheet coated with a zinc layer,features a smooth,
flat,uniform thickness, strong adhesion, no peeling during
processing, good corrosion resistance,and excellent adhesion to
paint film. It can withstand high temperatures up to 315 ℃ and has
excellent surface conductivity. The surface is smooth and clean,
the size is accurate, the board surface is straight, the spangles
are even and beautiful.

Galvanized steel coils have high adhesion,corrosion resistance, and
precisely controlled coating thickness. In addition,Galvanized
steel is easy to process and weld, and also has a long service life
when exposed to the atmosphere.
- Excellent anti-corrosion:
Galvanised Steel has excellent corrosion resistance,the zinc
coating layer has better electrochemical protection on steel than
painting and plastic coating.It can last for decades of years
without any problem of peeling off,and also higher collosion and
scratch resistance.
Not only will the zinc coating play the role of a physical barrier
but also protects the steel underneath through electrochemical
reactions (sacrificial anode action) when the coating is scratched
or damaged.
Hot-dip galvanized steel coils maintain the processability of
steel, and the zinc layer is thin and uniform, which does not
affect the performance of steel during processing and forming.
Galvanized steel has good thermal resistance,can be used for long
time without discoloration below 230℃, and it will discolor when it
exceeds 250℃.
