About Reducing Couplings
Reducing Coupling is a short pipe component used to connect two
pipes of different diameters in a straight line. Its two ends are
processed with internal threads of different sizes, which can
achieve a smooth transition from a large pipe diameter to a small
pipe diameter (or vice versa). This integrated design avoids the
hassle of using multiple pipe fittings for combined diameter
changes, not only saving installation space and costs, but also
reducing a potential leakage point, making it a convenient and
efficient choice for pipeline diameter changes.
Fitting Connection Types
There are three main connection methods for industrial pipe
fittings. Threaded connection, this product is suitable for medium
and low voltage systems, with the advantage of easy installation
and disassembly. Socket welding is used for high-pressure,
small-diameter pipelines, connected by fillet welds, with high
strength. Butt welding is the direct welding of the end of a
pipeline to form a continuous and integrated pipeline. It has the
highest strength and is suitable for various critical and high
demand pipeline systems.
Material Properties of CF8M/316
The use of CF8M/316 stainless steel material provides excellent
corrosion resistance protection for the pipeline system. Compared
to ordinary 304 material, 316 can more effectively resist the
corrosion of chlorides and various industrial chemical media due to
the addition of molybdenum element. For low-pressure systems with
more complex operating environments or higher requirements for
service life, choosing 316 material fittings means choosing lower
long-term maintenance costs and higher operational safety.
