Araldite® 2014-2 Product Introduction
Basic Properties
Araldite® 2014-2 is a two-component epoxy paste adhesive with a
grey paste appearance. It cures at room temperature, exhibits
thixotropic properties, and can fill gaps up to 5mm without
sagging. Its key features include high temperature resistance,
excellent chemical resistance, and strong resistance to water and a
wide variety of chemicals.
Detailed Description
Araldite® 2014-2 is a high-strength structural adhesive developed
by Huntsman Advanced Materials, specifically designed for bonding
applications that require resistance to higher than normal
temperatures or more aggressive environments. The product consists
of Component A (beige paste) and Component B (grey paste), with a
mixing ratio of 100:50 by weight or 100:50 by volume. The mixed
adhesive has a pot life of approximately 110 minutes at 25°C and
forms bonds with excellent mechanical properties and durability
after curing.
Special Properties
Araldite® 2014-2 exhibits several outstanding properties: after
curing for 16 hours at 40°C, its lap shear strength on aluminum
exceeds 14MPa; glass transition temperature is approximately 69°C
by DMA and 85°C by DSC; excellent weatherability maintains stable
performance under tropical conditions (40°C/92% RH); and superior
resistance to various chemical media including water, oils, and
solvents. Additionally, the product demonstrates good electrical
properties, including surface resistivity of 4.6×10¹⁶Ω and volume
resistivity of 2.7×10¹⁵Ω·cm.
Application Scenarios
Araldite® 2014-2 is widely used in metal bonding, electronic
component fixation, and GRP (glass reinforced plastic) structure
assembly. It is particularly suitable for critical component
bonding in automotive, aerospace, electronic equipment, and
industrial manufacturing applications that require resistance to
high temperatures or chemical exposure. In the electronics
industry, it is commonly used for PCB component fixation and heat
sink installation; in transportation for body panel and structural
component bonding; and in industrial equipment for
chemical-resistant pipe and vessel sealing.
