1. Compact structure and lightweight design:
The optimized box beam structure (usually welded steel plates) is
adopted to minimize the material usage and achieve overall
lightweight while ensuring strength and rigidity.
The lightweight design reduces the load on the plant structure and
reduces the cost of infrastructure construction.
2. Three-in-one drive unit:
Core features: This is the most iconic feature of the European end
beam. It highly integrates the motor, brake, and reducer in a
compact unit.
Advantages:
Small size and light weight: It greatly saves the internal space of
the end beam and makes the overall structure more compact.
Easy installation and maintenance: As an integral module,
installation, commissioning and later maintenance (such as
replacement) are very convenient and fast.
High transmission efficiency and reliable performance: The
integrated design reduces the transmission links, improves the
transmission efficiency, and reduces the failure points. Hardened
tooth surface reducers are usually used, with strong load-bearing
capacity and long life.
Alignment-free: The alignment problem between the motor and the
reducer, and the reducer and the wheel axle in the traditional
drive mode is eliminated, and the installation accuracy
requirements are relatively reduced.
3. High-strength wheels and bearings:
Wheels: Forged from high-strength alloy steel (such as 45# steel or
42CrMo), the wheel tread is quenched and has high hardness and wear
resistance, and can withstand wheel pressure under a load of 25
tons. The wheel diameter is relatively large (usually above 400mm),
which can effectively disperse the wheel pressure, reduce track
wear, and run more smoothly.
Bearings: Use large-size, high-load-carrying spherical roller
bearings. This type of bearing can automatically compensate for
certain installation errors and deformations, has extremely strong
load-bearing capacity and long life, and is particularly suitable
for bearing heavy loads and impact loads.
4. Excellent running stability and guidance:
Usually adopts a double-flange wheel or a single-flange wheel +
horizontal guide wheel design.
Double-flange wheel: Directly guided by the flank, the structure is
simple and reliable.
Horizontal guide wheel: A horizontal wheel is set on the outside of
the single-flange wheel, and rolling contact is made on the side of
the track for guidance, which can effectively prevent rail gnawing,
reduce flank wear, run more smoothly and with lower noise. This is
especially important for 25 tonne loads.
