α-Cyclodextrin is an organic substance with the appearance of white
crystals. It is also called: alpha cyclodextrin, cyclohexaose,
cyclic maltohexaose. It is the general name for a series of cyclic
oligosaccharides produced by amylose under the action of
cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase produced by Bacillus.
