Delrin performs exceptionally well in CNC milling due to its high
mechanical strength, low coefficient of friction and excellent
dimensional stability. High-precision processing can be achieved by
using sharp carbide tools and maintaining an appropriate cutting
speed and feed rate. During the processing, attention should be
paid to temperature control to avoid deformation of the CNC
machining delrin parts due to overheating of the material.The
adoption of gentle clamping methods and effective chip removal
measures can further improve the processing quality.
►Key points of CNC milling process
Single-edge or single-helical milling cutters: High chip removal
efficiency, reduced heat accumulation, and prevention of melt
adhesive sticking to the cutter
High-speed steel (HSS) or coated cemented carbide are both
acceptable; Choosing the latter can lead to a longer lifespan and a
finer surface.
Small relief Angle (< 5°), large rake Angle (10-15°), which is
conducive to cutting in and chip removal in CNC machining.
