Working Principle:
The working principle of the shaftless drum screen is relatively
simple. The material enters the screen drum through the feed port.
As the screen drum rotates, the material moves forward along the
inner wall of the screen drum under the action of gravity and
centrifugal force. During this process, the smaller material will
fall through the holes of the screen into the collection tank
below, while the larger material will continue to remain in the
screen drum and eventually be sent to the discharge port for
discharge.
Workflow:
1. The material enters the screen drum evenly through the feed
port. The feed port is usually designed to be located at the top of
the screen drum to ensure that the material can flow in smoothly
and avoid blockage caused by uneven feeding. During the feeding
process, the material may pass through a feeding device (such as a
vibrating feeder) to ensure uniform distribution of the material.
2. The core part of the shaftless drum screen is the screen drum.
The screen drum is driven by an electric motor and rotates
continuously. Since there is no central shaft, the screen drum can
be more stable when rotating, reducing the vibration of the
equipment. This design makes the movement of materials in the
screen drum smoother.
3. Material movement and screening: As the screen drum rotates, the
material moves forward along the inner wall of the screen drum
under the action of gravity and centrifugal force. At this time,
the movement of different particle sizes of materials in the screen
drum shows different behaviors: Small particle size materials:
Smaller particles can fall through the screen holes on the inner
wall of the screen drum into the collection tank below. These
particles are usually called qualified materials and can pass
through the screening smoothly. Large particle size materials:
Larger particles cannot pass through the screen and continue to
remain in the screen drum. As the screen drum rotates, these
particles are eventually sent to the discharge port for discharge,
which is called unqualified materials.
4. Screening efficiency and adjustment: The screening efficiency of
the shaftless drum screen is related to multiple factors, including
the size of the screen hole, the nature of the material, the
inclination angle of the screen drum, etc. The operator can adjust
the aperture of the screen and the inclination angle of the screen
drum according to actual needs to optimize the screening effect.
Screen aperture: The choice of aperture directly affects the
particle size classification of screening. Smaller apertures are
suitable for screening fine particles, while larger apertures are
suitable for screening larger particles.
Inclination angle: The inclination angle of the screen drum is
usually set between 5° and 15°. Increasing the inclination angle
can increase the flow rate of the material, thereby improving the
screening efficiency.
5. Discharging process: After screening, small-size materials fall
through the screen and are collected in the collection tank below
for subsequent processing or packaging. Large-size materials
continue to move forward in the screen drum and are eventually sent
to the discharge port. This process ensures efficient grading of
materials and reduces resource waste.
