The working principle of an oil pressure buffer is to convert the
kinetic energy of the elevator into heat energy through the damping
effect of hydraulic oil, thus achieving buffering. The specific
process is as follows:
When the elevator car or counterweight device hits the impact plate
of the oil pressure buffer at a certain speed, the impact plate
pushes the piston downward.
As the piston moves downward, the hydraulic oil in the cylinder
flows through the throttle holes or gaps on the piston to the upper
part of the piston or other parts of the cylinder. Since the size
of the throttle holes or gaps is relatively small, it restricts the
flow speed of the hydraulic oil, causing a large resistance, namely
the damping force, during the flow of the hydraulic oil.
The kinetic energy of the elevator is consumed in the process of
overcoming the damping force and is converted into the internal
energy of the hydraulic oil, which raises the temperature of the
hydraulic oil. In this way, the motion energy of the elevator is
absorbed and dissipated, thus achieving the buffering effect.
After the impact force of the elevator disappears, the reset spring
in the buffer will push the piston upward, allowing the hydraulic
oil to flow back to the lower part of the cylinder, getting ready
for the next buffering operation
