Horizontal Directional Drilling 12" HDD Hole Opener
Introduction
The Fixed Diameter Hole Opener is made of tough heat treated alloy
steel for maximum strength. Cutter arms, equipped with removable
cutter, are hardfaced and welded on body. Cutters are available in
three types: type SM for soft to medium formation, type MH for
medium to hard formation and type XH for hard formation. The hole
openers have three or six jet tubes with replaceable nozzles, so
that jet streams quickly clean the enlarged hole.
Features
1. The edge of the shirt is welded and the carbide insert is
pressed into the outer diameter of the head.
2. Suitable for medium to medium hard formations with high
compression resistance (hard shale, sand body, etc.)
3. The bit bearing is an unsealed roller bearing.
4. The surface of the cone gauge is strengthened with cemented
carbide.

Advantages
1. Cutting structure
In view of the different cutting characteristics of the blades in
different parts of the cone, placing the cone blade in the
permanent contact area and inserting the wedge-shaped blade in the
alternating contact area can greatly improve the drilling
efficiency. The diamond blade is arranged in the permanent contact
area of the cone to improve the wear resistance of the cutting
structure, and the blade is severely worn in this area. Place the
tungsten carbide blade on the top surface of the cone to prevent
the cone from wearing.
2. Hydraulic design
The small-angle waterway design increases the thickness of the
shirt hem, which can effectively prevent waterway erosion. Use
optimized water structure to improve cleaning ability and ROP.
