JEDEC Solid State Technology Association is the leading standards
body for the microelectronics industry. JEDEC was founded in 1958
as part of the Electronics Industry Association (EIA) to set
standards for the emerging semiconductor industry. In 1999, JEDEC
became an independent association and changed its name to JEDEC
Solid State Technology Association.
JEDEC trays are a standard-defined tray for transporting, handling,
and storing complete chips and other components, and the production
comes in the very same outline dimensions of 12.7 inches by 5.35
inches (322.6 mm x 135.89 mm). Trays come in a number of different
profiles.

of molded plastic pellets.
