Ductile Iron Wafer Butterfly Valve Commonly Used In Fluid Pipeline
Systems
This is a manual clamp-type butterfly valve, which is a key device
for regulating and controlling the on and off of fluids (water,
gas, liquid, etc.) in industrial pipelines. The disassembly
structure and functional logic are as follows:
Core components & functions
Valve body (blue part):
Mostly made of ductile iron/cast steel, it is high in strength and
impact-resistant, suitable for clamp installation (bolts are used
to penetrate the pipe flange and clamp the valve body to fix it),
saving space and flexible installation. It is commonly used in
water supply and drainage, HVAC, fire protection and other systems.
The internal black rubber is the valve seat seal, which cooperates
with the valve plate to block fluid leakage when closed and ensure
sealing (rubber can be EPDM, nitrile, etc., suitable for different
media).
Valve plate (silver disc in the middle):
The core of the pipeline "switch", rotating around the central axis
(0°-90°) to control the on and off/flow of the fluid. The surface
may be treated with anti-corrosion (such as stainless steel, spray
coating) to cope with complex working conditions such as acid,
alkali, and high temperature.
Actuator (black + yellow part):
Manual drive: The yellow turntable/handle is a manual operating
part. When it rotates, it drives the valve plate to rotate through
the gear/worm gear to achieve "open/close/adjustment". It is simple
and reliable and suitable for scenarios that do not require
automation.
The black shell is the transmission structure shell, with built-in
gears, bearings, etc. to ensure smooth operation, stable torque,
and avoid valve plate jamming.
Application & Advantages
Scenario: Due to its compact structure, small flow resistance and low cost,
it is widely used in municipal water supply and drainage, building
HVAC, fire sprinkler and other systems - such as community water
supply flow adjustment, shopping mall air conditioning water system
switch, and emergency cut-off of fire pipes.
Advantages: Manual operation does not require electricity/gas source, and
maintenance is simple; clamp installation is suitable for narrow
space; rubber soft seal is suitable for low-pressure, normal
temperature (or medium temperature) clean media, with good sealing
and low noise.
