1. Core functions and principles
The inverted bucket steam trap works on the principle of buoyancy +
lever:
When condensate enters the valve body, the inverted bucket sinks,
and the drain port is opened to drain;
When steam enters, the inverted bucket floats due to the low steam
density, closes the drain port, and prevents steam leakage.
It can efficiently remove condensate, reduce steam waste, and
maintain the thermal efficiency of the system.
2. Main structure:
The top is the valve cover (with more bolts for easy maintenance),
the middle is the valve body (accommodating the inverted bucket and
other core components), the side interface is used for pipe
connection (usually threaded or flanged connection, the threaded
interface in the picture), and the small valve at the bottom can be
manually drained or repaired.
3. Comparison of similar steam traps
Compared with float type and thermal power steam traps, the
advantages of the inverted bucket type are:
Strong water hammer resistance (stable inverted bucket structure);
Air can be discharged (avoid system air blockage);
But it is sensitive to the installation angle (needs to be
installed vertically to ensure smooth movement of the inverted
bucket).
