continuous chain along the track, moving parallel to create a
mainline that intersects with the cart belts, leading to the term
"Cross Belt Sorter." Items can be loaded onto the cart belts
manually or automatically, and as the carts approach designated
sorting stations, the control system activates the belts to
facilitate precise sorting.
Available in both circular and linear configurations, cross belt
sorters are designed for high throughput. Circular models can
achieve sorting speeds of up to 2 meters per second, processing as
many as 22,000 items per hour. Linear models, operating in a
straight line, can reach speeds of up to 1.5 meters per second and
